With a Pencil in My Pocket is a social artwork. 150 people are sharing six subscriptions to "500 Colored Pencils" - each receiving one pencil per month for 20 months. Every month each of us seeks out a manifestation of our pencil’s color name – a place, person, thing, creature, activity – that somehow embodies the essence of the color. These experiences are documented by writing a short story or vignette with that month's pencil in our project journals.
I just got mine today! Can't wait to start a new adventure =)
ReplyDeletereally nice stories. thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lea. January was anything but blue thanks to you...
ReplyDeleteLea, you made this video blog such a fun element! Thanks~ I love Victoria Finlay's book, too.
ReplyDeleteI second the recommendation on the book "Colour" by Victoria Findlay! Great travel adventures and stories about her trying to track down the origin of colours. She's also written "Jewels: A Secret History" which has a tangential relation to colour and is also filled with amazing stories!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this month's pencil!
Cheers .. KateT
Neat. I feel like I'm a Power Ranger, and you're my Zordon, giving me my assignments!
ReplyDeleteMermaid's Purses sound gross. And the name Harry popping up was awesome. I kind of hope someone is planning on naming their kid "Bobby Shaftho. Though it might help if they are Brittish.
